First off I just had to say Heidi, that Kimball's dinner prayer was Hill-ARIOUS!! I told Matt and the kids while we were eating and they all thought it was so funny! Don't worry, you will make it into that swimsuit!
Now as for the Fiesta Fish Dish...I have actually never tried it yet. I just haven't found the time to make it so I've eaten a banana oatmeal smoothie instead. Sooo...I am very glad to hear your input. What did you eat it with? Tuna? Do you think it still would be gross with chicken? Yeah I say, if you don't like it, eat a meal from week 1 or future weeks that looks good. I have actually really enjoyed this weeks food. At first I was skeptical of the blueberry smoothie because I don't love bluberries, however tasting it today for the third day, I really like it and look forward to it. So weird! I love it with grapenuts. I like the crunchy graham taste. I did make one alteration to meal #4...chicken and barbeque baked beans. I only put one tbsp of stubbs bbq sauce instead of 2. It makes it way more mild and I like it much better.
Last night, after meal 6(banana smoothie), I still felt hungry so I ate a 3 oz chicken and half of an apple. A half hour later I was STILL hungry but not for any of Kristi Approved stuff (I will call her KA from now on...it's easier). So I gave in and had half of a peanut butter sandwich on wheat bread AND two graham cracker sheets with some milk. I felt guilty after the graham crackers but not too bad because I knew I did good cardio that day. I told myself, "Just move on...get up tomorrow and workout and try for a better day tomorrow." So far so good today! I haven't felt as hungry today as yesterday. Heidi felt guilty about one and a half cookies but think about it. Normally, she probably would've eaten 7 or 8 right? That's what I would have done. And she only had one! It's all about learning to control our minds, just like Heidi said. You have to want it though. You have to want that will power.
I love the way I feel and I will keep going and fight through the exercise even when it gets tough because I know there will be a great reward for what I do, far greater than if I did not do anything!

FOWL Fiesta Fish!
Does anyone HATE the fiesta fish meal as much as me? SICK!! What was that? That had to be the most random combination of food ever! Thank goodness for meal substitution!!
I must say too, Lance and I have forced ourselves to like the Stubb's bbq sauce. It's not so bad now.
I must confess, I made cookies yesterday because my kids had a bunch of friends over. I only at 1/2 of one yesterday and one today. What did I learn from this: 1-YOU CAN'T HAVE TEMPTATIONS AROUND! 2- My mind isn't as strong as I think it is 3- What a waste of 15 minutes worth of my exercsing for 15 seconds of sugar pleasure. 4- I always regret it, so why do I do it? Still trying to figure that one out.
I think that is my goal through this whole process, is to discover really how powerful and invovled our mind is over eating and excersing. So far, I'm learning it's 80% Mind Power 20% Physical. I'm going to keep going though!

Week 1 for Stacy
After a week of constant exercise and healthy eating I'm happy to report my progress. Keep in mind I was sick yesterday but not sick enough to not eat. I did end up eating close to our normal calorie range and I didn't lose too much fluid out of my body. So with that in mind...my results may be a little off but not by much. I lost 2.3 lbs. I lost 1 inch from my waist and 1 inch from my hips.
I think this week I will take it down to active exercise instead of advanced. I think the advanced shot my body. I'm not in athlete condition yet! Hopefully it will help me feel more energy this week. I have turned down cookies, cup cakes, donuts and SKOR CAKE!! (that one was difficult) But I know it made a huge impact. I'm excited for another week...especially new food. So proud of Heidi and Lance! Anxious to hear reports from others. I get weekly motivating emails from kristi approved. I will forward them to everyone. I love feeling this way. I never feel bloated and I just feel cleaner. Lets do this again...on to week 2!

Essig Results are In
Well, the results are in after one week of faithfully eating right and exercising. We really weren't sure what to expect. As we've all discussed, the food was great, but toward the end of the week I think we were all anxious for a change in taste. I'm so excited for this new week of food! If I have to eat another mexican type food of some sort, I just might throw up! :) No, it really wasn't that bad. But after weighing and measuring this morning..... IT WAS WORTH IT!!! Here are the results from the Essig home:
Heidi
lost:
3.2 pds.
1.5 inches from waist
1 inch from hips
and 0.8% body fat
Lance
lost:
4.1 pds.
.5 inches from hips
and 0.4% body fat
We were so excited to see that it did make a difference. It is making it much easier to start a new week knowing the hard work and dicipline is paying off. Good luck to everyone with week 2 and Mom and Dad as they start week 1.

Hurting
So I'm at the end of day 3 and still feeling good however it hurts so bad to walk down the stairs. The top of my thighs are killing me! I suppose that's a good thing. I decided I just don't like the coleslaw salad (I know, you girls probably think I'm crazy) so I just eat the chicken breast with an apple. The substitute list said if you don't like coleslaw just skip it. I am much happier now! I felt like I was forcing it down and that was frustrating. It made me excited. It made me realize we can always find something we like to replace it. We don't have to torture ourselves or we'll never make it. No tortures for the banana oatmeal smoothie however! I look forward to that every morning!
I enjoyed watching Biggest Loser last night. I liked how Olivia said that she was the girl that would always start something but never finish it. That's me. But like Olivia, I am determined to follow through this time. I feel like I'm slowly getting energy back and that is the main thing that drove me to do this. I know I can't have energy when I'm eating lots of sugar. Today has been good. I still continue to feel pretty full and I like eating my mint chocolate chip dessert gum. So far, I like Living the Life!

A Day Behind
I'm going to be a day behind because I've had the flu. I'm hoping I'll be feeling good enough tomorrow to start!! Good job everyone!
Morning one at the Essig's
Well, I'll give our morning update. Lance started by playing basketball for an hour this morning. I did the weight exercises then walked on the treadmill for 20 minutes at a 9-12% incline. That was a workout! I haven't burned that many calories since I got pregnant. Wow, it felt good! Lance and I drank our banana smoothies this morning and were very pleasantly surprised at how good they tasted. Looking forward to the burrito!
